I have taught dancing and movement since 2006 for people of all ages (4-90). And I am certified by BachataDominicanaRD (approved by the Dominican ministry of Culture) as well as a Zumbini instructor. I also have formal training in the communication practice known as Authentic Relating.
I incorporate all of these abilities into every part of my teaching.

Have you considered adding a dance like Salsa to your event, but wondering if it might be too difficult? – Do not despair! Bachata and Merengue are two social dances from the Dominican Republic.
Just like Salsa, the music has the most wonderful rythms from sun-kissed shores! The steps are simpler, and will thus allow you to have a real connected partner dance within one hour!
My name is Mette – I am the woman behind Bachata Dominicana Copenhagen. A part from teaching Caribbean social dancing – I have a strong focus on teaching about the culture that I am so lucky to learn and borrow from as well as using my facilitation skills and knowledge from studying Authentic Relating. When I teach I include the importance of understanding non-verbal conversation in partner dance (of course with a smile and good energy!)
I have been teaching dancing and movement since 2006 but didn’t dive in to the world of partner dancing until 2015 with styles like Blues, Improvised partner dancing, Salsa, Bachata and Merengue.
I’ve participated in several courses in Cuba, to improve my Salsa, Rumba and Afro-Cuban cultural dances as well as lived in the Dominican Republic for a total of 7 months, and often go back to the Island for new inspiration.
